Ensimmäinen joulu uudessa kodissa Sen Monoromissa, Mondulkirin maakunnassa. Muutto onnellisesti ohi ja asunto vihdoin käyttökunnossa. Phnom Penhistä tuotu kinkku ja itse Mondulkirin perunoista ja porkkanoista tehdyt laatikot maistuivat kaiken uurastuksen jälkeen. Suorastaan pieni jouluihme, että saimme muutamassa päivässä kodin tuntumaan jo kodilta ja kesän keskelle jouluisaa tunnelmaa. Tämä joulu on kyllä ikimuistoinen!
Vietimme aaton ensin kotosalla suomalaista ruokaa nauttien ja sitten ruotsalais-brittiystäviemme luona. He olivat järjestäneet joulunyyttärit, joten saimme tutustua uusiin ihmisiin, syödä eri maiden jouluruokia ja iloita yhdessä joulusta. Unohtumatonta oli istua nuotion äärellä avaran tähtitaivaan alla joululauluja laulellen.

It's our first Christmas in our new home in Sen Monorom, Mondulkiri province. My what an unforgettable Christmas it has been this far! Despite the hecticness of the past days of unpacking and setting up house we managed to make our new home seem like home and to even make it festive for the season. The ham we brought from Phnom Penh and the casseroles we made from Mondulkiri's potatoes and carrots all turned out delicious. We spent the eve at home enjoying Finnish cuisine but later in the evening we joined our Swedish-British friends at their bonfire potluck Christmas party. We got to meet interesting new people, try Christmas food from different parts of the world, and enjoy the spirit of Christmas together. Sitting around the bonfire singing Christmas carols under the star lit night was truly memorable.
